Todd G. Young

CEO

Todd Young serves as CEO for Southeastern Legal Foundation.

Todd has worked with Southeastern Legal Foundation since 1994, dedicating his career to the freedom-based law movement. Prior to stepping into his current role as CEO, Todd directed SLF’s policy, outreach, and media relations programs and served as the Foundation’s Executive Director for 9 years.

In his roles at SLF, Todd has helped SLF take several landmark cases to the U.S. Supreme Court – winning all five of them. He has worked closely in an advisory capacity with former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III, former independent counsel Judge Kenneth Starr, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and various members of Congress and state governors and attorneys general. Todd regularly publishes scholarship on issues including individual liberty, rule of law, and free markets. His work is frequently relied on by state legislatures and has paved the way for civil justice reform and unemployment insurance reform resulting in more than $1.75 billion in tax cuts.

Todd has been listed in Heritage Foundation’s Guide to Public Policy Experts since 1998. His work is also frequently published in national newspapers and magazines and he appears on television and radio programs. Before fully embarking on a career in the freedom-based law movement, Todd received his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law and his undergraduate degree in English from Davidson College. Todd resides in the Atlanta area with his family, including his two daughters and many pets.
