Jeff is an experienced litigator, having tried cases and counseled clients in a variety of matters in both state and federal court.
He earned his undergraduate degree in History from Bowdoin College and, after several years working in the restaurant and hotel industry, he attended and graduated from the Law Center at Louisiana State University. Following law school, Jeff clerked for Judge Patricia H. Minaldi on the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. His clerkship instilled in him a commitment to the rule of law. The next 14 years of Jeff’s career were spent building a successful private practice where he specialized in litigating matters involving insurance, torts, and commercial disputes. Jeff’s legal scholarship is regularly published in trade journals and he is considered an expert in insurance law.
In 2021, Jeff decided to return to constitutional law and join the team at SLF. In his role as Senior Attorney, Jeff manages litigation in and out of the courtroom on a wide range of issue areas including protecting private property rights, promoting free speech, and guarding individual liberty. His work and that of Southeastern Legal Foundation is regularly covered by national media and you will frequently hear or see him on the radio, podcasts, and television.
Jeff is an active member of his community where he advocates for educational opportunities for all children. When he isn’t advocating for freedom, you can find him fishing, shooting, or on an outdoor adventure. He resides in New Orleans with his wife.
